Sei Ya Kan is the name Sensei Reg Kear gave my Dojo in 2003, It means ‘Young Arrows’.
We are a Private Invitation only Dojo who practice San No Ya Wado Ryu. The name ‘San No Ya’ refers to the Wado Karate as taught by the Kear family – Reg, Phillip and Robert. Suzuki Tatsuo Sensei, one of the most famous Wado Ryu masters responsible for spreading Wado Ryu Karate to the western world awarded them this name after training in Tokyo some years ago. It was their good fortune to begin the practice of Wado Ryu Karate with Suzuki Sensei shortly after he arrived in Great Britain in 1965. They have been his students and followed his teachings for the last 40 plus years.
I have been a student of Sensei Reg Kear since 1991 and am graded at 4th Dan, I have been teaching since 2003 under his guidance.
